I'm so glad you're here.  My name is Stephanie and I'm a Holistic Dietitian Nutritionist and Eating Psychology Coach.  Unlike many dietitians, I veer away from focusing only on food and nutrition in order to address the many other life dimensions that may be keeping you from reaching your goals.  I practice locally in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, but also work with women everywhere who are dedicated to healing their relationship with food, taking back their health, and ultimately transforming their life. 

Like many others, my passion for this field was born out of my own health and eating challenges. Poor body-image and cycles of food restriction and compulsive eating overwhelmed my mind and body for well over a decade.  Eating disorders can become a life-long battle so I'm grateful to have found the balanced wellness strategies and support I needed to heal.  The antidote had less to do with food, and more to do with the psychology of why I was using food to escape from my life. I learned that healing comes with learning who we are.  Ultimately, our life energy can become trapped by the obsession over food and body which keeps us from reaching our full potential.  My work aims to help other women escape this obsession and reclaim their life.

My Food Philosophy

Food is life.  And eating is the ultimate act of self-care.  Every time we eat, we are choosing to live.  Nutrition doesn't have to be complicated.  And food doesn't have to be counted.  The way we eat food does not have to be labeled.  We can be Vegan or Vegetarian or Raw or Paleo or anything outside or in between.  We can eat one way some days, and another way other days.  We can eat when we're hungry.  And we can eat foods we love.  Some bodies thrive on more energy-giving plants, lighter foods, less meat.  Others may be energized by larger amounts of grounding proteins and healthy fats.  We are all individuals with our own blueprint and our own nutritional needs.  There is no one perfect human diet.  Our health responds best when we listen to our intuition and the genius of our own body-wisdom.  So listen to your body.  Choose whole foods, from the Earth.  Eat slowly.  And savor every bite.    

What I do

My practice is grounded in the notion that healing our relationship with food is almost never about the food. Wholesome nourishing food is an essential part of a healthy life, but it's only one piece of the puzzle.  When we free up energy to focus on other things we allow space for the mind and body to change.  If what you've been doing hasn't worked for you then it might be time to shake things up.  My methods don't involve counting or obsessing, but instead focus on functional nutrition strategies and mind-body practices that liberate you from the prison of compulsive eating and chronic dieting.

Every individual I work with reignites the passion I have for this work in their own unique way.  I'm continually humbled by the shifts I witness in the women I connect with, and I learn something new from them every day.  The healing journey you embark on when we connect is a collaborative relationship that involves a committed dedication from both of us.  As someone who can personally relate to your challenges with food and body, I understand the depths of the struggle.  I get so much joy out of being able to guide others out of this darkness, and back into a positive and nourishing relationship with food and self.  Never give up on yourself and your unique journey to health and happiness.  I look forward to hearing from you!

This site is a true labor of love as I attempt to share what I've meticulously studied and learned over the last decade.  Consider this an encyclopedia of everything that works to cultivate optimal health and a vibrant radiant life.  You will find endless nuggets of information on all things health and wellness, my opinions and insights into the mind and soul as they relate to our health, and a touch of artistic expression in what has also become a creative outlet for my own story.  

I am first and foremost a nutritionist and health coach grounded in science and literature, but I believe in the freedom of expression and individual interpretation.  In the end, I gave up on the notion that I would find a book or resource that would fix me and I let myself become an experiment of one. In the pursuit of good health I encourage you to do the same. Never stop reading, learning, and growing.  But at the end of the day, listen most closely to the messages coming from your own brilliant body, your expert intuitionand your whole heart.
